Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pay for my treatment?

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and CareCredit. We will work with your insurance company to help maximize your benefits.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept a wide range of dental insurance plans including Delta Dental, Humana, Cigna, MetLife, BCBS TX, Dental Network of America, Principal, Ameritas, United Healthcare, Aetna, Sun Life, and United Concordia. Please contact our office to verify your specific plan.

How should I prepare for my first visit?

Please complete your online registration in advance using the login credentials provided to you. Bring a list of current medications, your referral slip and/or X-rays from your dentist, and your dental insurance card. Let us know if you are interested in nitrous oxide or sedation options. Visit our Your First Visit page for full details.

My tooth stopped hurting. Do I still need treatment?

Yes. When a tooth that has been hurting suddenly stops, it often means the nerve inside the tooth has died. While the pain may be gone, the underlying disease and infection remain. Without treatment, the infection can spread to the surrounding bone and tissues, potentially causing more serious complications. It is important to proceed with your recommended treatment even if your symptoms have improved.

What should I expect after my procedure?

It is normal to experience some soreness in the area for 2 to 3 days following your endodontic procedure. Over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication (such as ibuprofen) is usually effective in managing any discomfort. If you experience severe pain or swelling, please call our office immediately at (254) 374-6680.

What happens after my root canal is completed?

After your root canal treatment is completed, you will need to return to your general dentist for a permanent restoration (typically a crown) within 30 to 60 days. The permanent restoration is essential to protect the treated tooth and restore it to full function. Delaying the restoration can put the tooth at risk for fracture or reinfection.
